Moore's Spring

MST is the premier mountain bike trail in the Piedmont area of North Carolina.  Our first professional trail, remains one of our proudest achievements.

Initially began as a workforce development project for young people in Stokes County to provide manufacturing, design, and construction experience in a hands-on environment, the project then transitioned into a volunteer hand build project to complete the original 5-plus mile loop on the south side.

Attention then turned to the North Side of the then 4-H-owned property to connect the Farmhouse Trailhead to the historic Moore's Springs Campground.  This began a tourism-focused development that culminated in an early RTP grant award.



During this phase, the property was transferred from 4H to NC State Parks and became a part of Hanging Rock State Park which continues to manage the property today as one of the park's most popular attractions.
